Dwayne Bravo is the mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders. He replaced Gautam Gambhir, who left the franchise to join the Indian squad. Before this assignment, the legend of the Chennai Super Kings served as the Men in Yellow’s bowling coach.
Bravo conveyed his excitement for this new phase as well. “I’ve played in the CPL for the last ten years with the Trinbago Knight Riders. I greatly respect the Knight Riders’ methods because I have played for and against them in several leagues. It’s a unique venue because of the owners’ enthusiasm, the management’s expertise, and the welcoming atmosphere. This is the ideal platform for me as I go from playing to mentoring and coaching the next generation of players.”
Throughout his remarkable career, he has participated in 582 Twenty20 matches, claimed 631 wickets, and amassed around 7,000 runs. Bravo has more championship victories than any other cricket player, making his experience unmatched.
Knight Riders Group CEO Venky Mysore expressed his delight at the appointment, saying, “We are thrilled that DJ Bravo is joining us. His broad expertise, extensive experience, and unwavering desire to succeed will benefit our players and team. Bravo’s global involvement with our other franchises, the CPL, MLC, and ILT20, is something else we’re happy about.”
