Injuries Suspect Suryakumar Yadav Days Away from Duleep Trophy

Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India’s Twenty20 team, suffered a hand injury while playing for Mumbai in a match against TNCA XI during the Buchi Babu tournament during the period in question.

Even though the extent of the injury is unknown, it is a cause for worry for Yadav, particularly given that the Duleep Trophy will begin on September 5. If the injury is significant, his chances of being selected for India’s Test team may be diminished.

To this point, Suryakumar has only participated in a single test match, which was played against Australia in Nagpur in February of last year.

During the encounter against TNCA XI in Coimbatore, he was keen to create a mark in the red-ball format to attract the selectors’ notice.

Prior to the match, he expressed his enthusiasm about the possibility of participating in the Buchi Babu event and the forthcoming Duleep Trophy.

He did this expecting to gain a berth in the ten Test matches planned for India’s internal season.

The match was difficult for Mumbai, as they only scored 156 runs in response to the 379 runs scored by TNCA XI. After Tamil Nadu tallied 286 runs in their second innings, they are now confronted with the difficult task of achieving a goal of 510 runs to win.

Regarding the Duleep Trophy, Suryakumar is a member of Team C, which Ruturaj Gaikwad captains. India will kick off its home season with a two-test series against Bangladesh in September and October.
